This summer, young storytellers and nature explorers are invited to embark on an unforgettable adventure at the EcoFilm Summer Camp! For children who love to create, imagine, and connect with the world around them, this is the perfect space to dive into storytelling in a way that feels truly magical. Together, we’ll step away from screens and into nature, where stories have been told for centuries—through shadows, light, and the simple wonders around us.
Why EcoFilm?
Before movies and smartphones, stories came to life through firelight and shadows, drawings and lanterns, passed down in ways that sparked the imagination. At EcoFilm, children will take a step back in time to rediscover the magic of storytelling—before technology made it instant. Through hands-on experiences, they will not only learn the basics of filmmaking but also develop a deeper connection to the natural world and their own creativity.
What to Expect
During camp, children will:
Wander Through Nature – Spend time outdoors, exploring, observing wildlife, and gathering natural materials to inspire their stories.
Step Into the Past – Have you ever wondered how images were created before cameras? Campers will experiment with shadow theatre, project drawings with a lantern, and use natural elements to craft visual stories.
Make a Mini-Movie – While the heart of this camp is about learning where storytelling began, campers will also create a very short film using a cellphone. Working together, they will write, direct, and bring their ideas to life. At the end of the camp, families will be invited to a special EcoFilm Showcase, where the children's creative work will be screened!
Build Confidence & Creativity – Storytelling is about more than just making movies. It’s about finding a voice, expressing ideas, and collaborating to bring something beautiful into the world
More Than Just a Camp
EcoFilm is about slowing down, paying attention, and seeing the world with new eyes. The goal is for every child to not only have fun but also walk away with a deeper appreciation for how stories shape our lives. This camp is an opportunity to play, create, and think critically about the media we consume—while having a blast outdoors.
Come Be a Part of the Story!
If this sounds like the kind of summer adventure your child would love, we would be thrilled to welcome them.
This camp is a partnership with Underscore Projects, and registration is already open.
See you under the trees, where stories come to life.
